How it works

A contest, from entry to payout

Meroviks is a daily fantasy esports service. You select professional players under a salary cap; the players’ own recorded performance decides where you finish.

  1. Pick a contest

Each contest covers one discipline and one day’s matches. Its entry fee, prize pool, payout grid, field size and minimum field are stated before you enter.

  2. Build a lineup

Five players, each with a published salary, inside a fixed cap. No more than three may come from the same team, which is what stops a lineup being a single position on one team’s day.

  3. Lock

Lineups lock at the scheduled start of the first match on the slate. After lock nothing can be edited, and a player who does not appear scores zero rather than being substituted.

  4. Score

Each player’s recorded statistics are converted by the published table for that discipline. Scores update as the provider reports each map.

  5. Settle

Final statistics produce the final leaderboard, and payouts are credited to account balances. A provider correction inside 72 hours re-settles the contest.

The cap

What the salary cap is doing

Every eligible player carries a published salary derived from their last ten scored maps, adjusted for the strength of the opposition they faced. The cap is the same for every entrant in the contest, so no one can simply select the five best-performing players — the cap forces a judgement about which output is worth its price on this particular slate.

Salaries are fixed at contest open and never move. If a roster changes before lock, the affected player is removed from the pool rather than repriced, so nobody is holding a lineup built against a price that no longer exists.

Money

Entry fees, rake and prize pools

Paid contests pool their entry fees. Meroviks retains a rake of 12% and the remainder forms the prize pool. Where a contest is marked guaranteed, that prize pool is paid in full whether or not the field fills — including where the fees collected are less than the guarantee.

If a contest does not reach its stated minimum field it is cancelled and every entry fee is returned in full, to the balance it came from. The same applies if cancelled or abandoned matches remove more than half of the slate.
