Set the ceiling before the slate, not during it
Every account carries deposit limits, session reality checks, time-outs and self-exclusion. They are in the account itself — no request to support, no waiting period to make a limit tighter.
Deposit limits
A limit you can lower instantly and raise only slowly
Set a maximum you can deposit per day, per week and per month. All three can run at once, and the tightest one applies.
| Control | How it behaves |
|---|---|
| Daily limit | Rolling 24 hours from each deposit. |
| Weekly limit | Rolling seven days. |
| Monthly limit | Rolling 30 days. |
| Lowering a limit | Takes effect the moment you confirm it, including mid-slate. |
| Raising a limit | Held for 24 hours before it applies, so the decision is made twice. |
| Removing a limit | Treated as an increase — the same 24-hour hold applies. |
A deposit that would breach an active limit is declined before any charge is attempted. A limit caps what you can pay in, not what a contest has already paid you.
Time out and self-exclusion
Stopping, for a while or for good
| Option | Length | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Reality check | Every 30 or 60 minutes | Interrupts the session with how long you have been here and what you have entered in that time. Set it in your account; it is stored there rather than in the browser, so a reload does not clear it. |
| Time-out | 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days | Blocks deposits and contest entry. The account stays open and withdrawals stay available. |
| Self-exclusion | 6 months, 1 year or permanent | Closes access to the account, ends marketing contact, and cannot be reversed before the period has run. |
Signs worth taking seriously
When it has stopped being a choice
- Entering more, or larger, contests to recover what a previous day cost.
- Spending money set aside for something else.
- Hiding how much has been entered from people close to you.
- Feeling you have to enter a slate you have not looked at.
- Losing time you meant to spend elsewhere.
None of these are unusual and none of them are a character judgement. They are, though, the point at which the controls above are worth using rather than reading.

Support in Canada is run province by province. ConnexOntario is free, confidential and open around the clock, and it will point you to the service where you live if that is not Ontario. We list only services we can name exactly — ask support and we will help you find your provincial line rather than guess at a number.
If you would like your account closed rather than limited, support will do it on request, with no questions and no retention offer.
