Where the points hide in each discipline

The scoring lines that decide contests in CS2, Dota 2, LoL and Valorant.

CS2 — damage and opening duels

ADR pays every ten damage regardless of whether the round is converted, which makes consistent damage dealers a stronger floor than their raw kill counts suggest. Opening kills pay a point and opening deaths cost half, so entry roles are net positive only when the entry actually works.

Dota 2 — economy carries the floor

GPM, XPM, last hits and net worth together contribute more predictable points than kills do. A position-one player on a team that plays long games can out-score a flashier mid on fewer kills.

LoL — kill participation and objectives

Assists pay two points, which puts supports and junglers far closer to carries than their raw kill share implies. Baron and dragon participation is credited to everyone in the fight, so teams that play around neutrals distribute points widely.

Valorant — ACS is the tiebreaker

Average combat score pays per twenty-five points and rewards damage, assists and non-fragging round impact at once. Between two similarly priced duelists, the ACS history is usually the more informative number.
